WTC Site in May

Here’s a crazy picture from the 4th floor of the newly reopened Millenium Hilton. I was in NYC late May doing passenger focus groups at the hotel. The construction you see is the subway system which had just reopened a station underneath the hotel. The darker levels on the far right side of the site are actually the remains of the parking garage. You can still see the different colors of the levels.

Amazingly 95% of their employees came back, even though it had been a year and a half since they had last worked there. Most of the local focus group participants were a bit unnerved to be so close to the site. Few had come down that far into Manhattan since the attacks.
