Nathaniel update

I couldn’t stand another oddity being at the top of the page so here’s a quick Nathaniel update.

  • He likes tomatoes at least as much as bananas now.
  • He is cutting a molar, top left, so he compains or cries easily these days.
  • A couple days ago he walked across the room by himself, and almost every day does about 10 steps. He can stop and keep his balance and keep going. He still needs encouragement and sometimes he just won’t.
  • The doctor says to say as many words in as many languages as you can because he is soaking it all up right now. The more languages he hears the better, but children who hear a lot of languages may take longer to speak. I assume it’s because they have to sort it all out.
  • On the changing table he was playing with a bottle with a nipple on it, with just water in it. He squirted himself with it and laughed out loud. So of course he did it over and over again and we all laughed for quite a while. Then changed his soaking outfit.

Play Jacques Brel and Heino so he gets an ear for french and german the way we did… he’ll especially like the train song from Heino, that’s a gem that will entertain for hours… ;)

I have heard of your paintings too, well enough; God has given you one face, and you make yourselves another. martha Neither a borrower nor a lender be; For loan oft loses both itself and friend, And borrowing dulls the edge of husbandry. This above all: to thine own self be true, And it must follow, as the night the day, Thou canst not then be false to any man.

  4. trevor Says:

I would fain die a dry death. trevor We burn daylight.

  5. vinnie Says:

Cry “Havoc,” and let slip the dogs of war. vinnie I pray thee cease thy counsel, Which falls into mine ears as profitless as water in a sieve.

Things won are done; joy’s soul lies in the doing. chuck See first that the design is wise and just: that ascertained, pursue it resolutely; do not for one repulse forego the purpose that you resolved to effect.

  7. mike Says:

The gaudy, blabbing, and remorseful day Is crept into the bosom of the sea. mike Lay on, Macduff, And damn’d be him that first cries, “Hold, enough!”
