FlyLady
Mom said to tell you all that she thinks that FlyLady is wonderful. A great site for anyone trying to get themselves organized, and doesn’t mind scolding via email.

ok, I know its one day early, but I won’t have access to the internet tomorrow…
sometimes I wonder why I don’t see anything new on this website, as I go to it daily… then I remember that I’m the one responsible for posting… dang…
on another note… when you think of coffee and coffee houses, you probably think of mornings, steaming beverages, heading off to some adventure, maybe even work, etc… There is a coffeehouse chain in SoCal (ok, so its a multinational company, but it doesn’t seem like it) that is particularly good called Le Pain Quotidien. There are only a few outposts here, Santa Monica, West Hollywood and now they just opened one in Studio City, *right* on my way to work. How exciting, you say. Now you can get coffee on Fridays as a special treat. Or maybe even a yummy pastry.
SO I walked into the store this morning at 7:20, since I wanted to get to work around 7:45, which seems reasonable, as most *normal* people work from 8am onward. (You can probably sense that this story has a sad ending.)
oh no, they don’t open until 8am. I exclaimed, “That’s horrible!” (no, actually, I really said that, it just popped out, wouldn’t you? this is caffeine and the whole tone of your morning gone wrong) The salesclerk looked somewhat suprised at my reaction, like it was normal for coffee places to open *after* the morning coffee rush. I then asked, “And you aren’t planning to open earlier at any point???” She replied nonchalantly, “No.”
Who are these people who think they can toy with your caffeine needs? I have to admit that I will still make an effort to go there on a weekend, but who’s to say I won’t actually go to the *cooler* locations such as West Hollywood instead of silly little Studio City, hmm???? …. so there… I’ve taught them a lesson!

I know, the blog hasn’t been updated lately. I’m pleading illness as the excuse… Here’s a very cute pic from Maggie, James and NJ’s trip out west to tide you over until I can think better…
Since Easter is the time of new things, here’s a pic of Christine practicing feeding a baby (Audrey Judson) shortly before she had her own new little one a couple weeks ago. Welcome little Emily Madeleine Melbardis! 7lbs, 19 inches and healthy! An early Easter gift…
I knew they could find a way to get around stem cells from embryos!!! Interesting that the Catholic Church sponsored it.
So, if any of you have been to my parents’ house, you will remember the natural history museum’s worth of animal heads, etc. With a healthy respect for wildlife, we have also grown up making use of, and eating the meat of what has gone on the wall.
So now, for you animal-loving, tree-hugging, anti-hunting, and anti-Disney-character individuals, there is the stuffed version…. your kids will love you for killing the *real* Simba and Bambi they see on the screen….
Cousin Geraldine came to visit recently from Australia. Here’s a pic for evidence!:)
Very nice article on a photographer here in So-Cal. I think we all dream of falling into our calling this simply.
this is really weird and kinda funny. type in your request and the chicken will do it. sponsored by Burger King…
