Handy tip: Ironing shirt collars with a hair straightener

Here’s one from left field… I read that you can get nice sharp collars without the fuss of ironing. Just plug in a hair straightener, then press the fold of the collar down for few seconds at a time and iron the crease sharp.

If you really want to try this out, give it a shot with: HAI flat irons, FHI flat irons, or an Infrashine hair straightener.

150 Cheap Places to Live

Maybe one of these places would be good. The person who can do this needs to be “GeoArb,” able to live where they want and work virtually.

Mea Culpa

Forgive me, its been a month since my last confess… wait, not in church… its been a month since my last post. I’m sorry. new year, new attitude. I promise to post more… at least for the next month or two… lets see… news news news…

ah here’s one. did you know that R. Kelly is planning on creating 30 more chapters of his now (in) famous “Trapped in a Closet” series? Yes, its the first ever “Hip Hopera”.

We had the great luck to be at a sold-out mock tribute to his work this weekend. I only hope that he doesn’t catch wind that he’s hilariously bad at writing, or else our entertainment will go out the window.

Very cool article on how cancer spreads.

Star Wars Lives On…

…in museums and galleries near you… We recently went to a Star Wars Costume exhibit at the Fashion Institute of Design & Merchandising. Really cool premise, but oddly for a Merchandising University, they didn’t light all of the costumes appropriately so that you could see the fabrics… Anyways, it was still cool, as is this new Star Wars Exhibit through April in Boston..

Fruit for Thought

this is really cool.

I’ve sometimes wondered if you could exist as a homeless person with all of the fallen fruit around here.

I know… kinda a weird thought…

ANA: CO2 Nasal Spray Relieves Migraine Pain
A device that sends pressurized carbon dioxide up one nostril and out the other — without being inhaled — appears to rapidly abort migraine pain, researchers reported.

A patient experiencing a migraine attack would place the device into one nostril and initiate a flow of carbon dioxide for as long as a minute, Dr. Spierings explained. The gas would actually flow up one nostril and effectively exit the other nostril while patients either hold their breath or keep their mouth closed for about 60 seconds.

While the gas is flowing, carbon dioxide readily permeates the nasal mucous membranes creating carbonic acid and decreasing the pH of the nociceptive nerve fibers, Dr. Spierings said. The acidosis created is potent enough to prevent stimulation of neurons and activation of the pain cascade. A bystander effect that follows prevents activation throughout the trigeminal nerve system.
